Lamenting

Dealer rested his face in his hand as he recalled last stellar cycle's conversation with Hot Rod.

"Um…I'm, well…you see…"

"Hot Rod…it's alright. Really. In your position…I'd have done the exact same thing. Thank you for coming back for me, for risking so much. It means, well, everything. What I'd like, more than anything… is for us to be…friends."

The moment had been perfect, all he had to do was tell him, but no, he had to panic and chicken out. He had failed to tell Hot Rod how he really felt.

And now Hot Rod had the wrong idea!

"Slag." Dealer whispered as he laid back in his berth. He shut down his optics and laid his arm across them. Things were not going well. At this rate, he would never work up the courage to tell Hot Rod he loved him.
